What to Look for in a Protein Bar

The supplement industry is growing ever day. There are thousands upon thousands of products to choose from. I have been getting a lot of questions recently regarding which protein bars are the best.

The truth is not one bar is "better" than another. This is because since we are all different we require different things from a supplementary product such as the protein bar. Some of us are trying to gain mass or weight while some of us are trying to lean out or lose weight. Some of us just need a little more protein in our diets. While athletes may want a bar that will give them lots of energy.

If healthy weight loss is your goal it is a good idea to find a protein bar that is:

Low in Fat
High in Protein
Low in Carbohydrates
Low in Sugar
Low in Calories

Example for women:

ISOFEMME BAR (tastes good too). You can find the below protein bar online for sale, at your local nutrition stores and at some gyms. It is made by ALLMAX.

You can also read more about the different types of ALLMAX products on their website above or on their blog http://www.allmaxnutritionsupplements.blogspot.com/

I promote ALLMAX products because I work for them here in Vancouver. I think they are a great company. Also I love their protein powders because you get almost 90% protein per scoop, where as other competitors you often get less. They also taste great! Anyway, I'll blog more about the powders later.

If you are an athlete looking for a protein bar to give you lots of energy (if you were an endurance athlete), find a protein bar that is:

High in Protein
High in Carbohydrates (this will give you the fuel that you need)

If you are looking at a bar for a meal replacement you want to make sure that there is sufficient:

Nutrients such as Vitamin B's, C's etc
