I recently have noticed among my clients a major lack in flexibility. It is very important post workout to do static stretching even if you are in a hurry. It is important to prevent injury, flush out any lactic acid that is built up during the work out, and to make everyday life easier. As you age you begin losing your flexibility so it is important to take some time out to stretch.

Bouncing during stretching which called ballistic stretching can be detrimental and should not be done unless you are doing ballistic movements (gymnast). It can lead to permanent damaging Make sure to hold the stretches statically. Static stretches should be held at least thirty seconds in order for the muscle to adapt and respond.

Happy Stretching!
